Unfortunately, eyes sometimes are subject to trauma.

What are long term consequences of ocular  trauma?

Eyes that have had significant trauma are at increased lifetime risk of glaucoma (elevated eye pressure) or retinal detachment.  It is important to have regular follow  up with your physician to monitor for these complications.
