Benjamin Reiss, MD
Benjamin Reiss, MD, is board-certified and fellowship trained in the comprehensive medical and surgical treatment of retinal and macular diseases. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with honors in Biology, and with a minor in Chemistry. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, graduating magna cum laude and being the recipient of the Watson Achievement Award, one of only five major awards given at graduation. In addition, he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he served as chief resident. During medical school and residency, he volunteered in Bolivia and the Philippines, helped organize five medical missions to Honduras, and participated in a surgical mission in Ecuador. He completed a two-year fellowship in the medical and surgical treatment of vitreoretinal diseases at Cook County Hospital and Retina Associates in Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Seattle to practice.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Reiss enjoys staying physically active with golf, hiking, and traveling. His favorite place to travel is Latin America, where he has visited 11 countries, and he speaks fluent Spanish.
